Outstanding diamonds are the flagship pieces for Maxon’s. The diamonds at Maxon’s must pass a rigid inspection before we showcase them in our store. The Four Cs represent the standard test by which we determine a diamond’s craftsmanship, quality, and value.
Below is an overview of the Four Cs, and what it takes for a diamond to be a Maxon’s diamond.
A diamond’s carat value is the measure of the stone’s weight, and one of the most important factors in determining a diamond’s value. The international standard of a diamond carat is 200 milligrams, or 1/5th of a gram. When jewelry pieces have more than one diamond, jewelers may feature the combined carat weight of the stones (known as carat weight). At Maxon’s, we carry diamond carat weights that range from modest to extravagant.
Diamond clarity is the measure of a diamond’s internal defects. These defects can be anything, from crystals to foreign items, structural imperfections to cracks that makes the diamond appear foggy. Diamond clarity is graded on a scale from Flawless to Included 3. At Maxon’s, only stones with the best possible diamond clarity rating make it to our showroom.
Diamond color has its own grading system, and all diamonds strive for the coveted “D.” A “D” diamond is flawless with no color at all, meaning it allows the most light to pass through it and emit the most sparkle. The full diamond color scale ranges from “P” to “I” where diamonds have a brownish color. Maxon’s commitment to quality remains unsurpassed and, when it comes to diamond color, we only accept the very best.
Diamond Cuts refer to the art and science that goes into perfecting a diamond from its rough, natural state. The diamond cut details the sort of shape, care, and polish that went into the final form. The diamond’s sparkle is dependent upon the quality of the cut, and the diamond cuts featured at Maxon’s are second-to-none.
The following are just some of the many diamond cuts featured at Maxon’s:
